Sidney Crosby now owns the most assists with one franchise in NHL history.

The Penguins captain picked up his 1,112th career helper Saturday in Montreal, passing Ray Bourque’s 1,111 with the Bruins. Pittsburgh posted the video right away. Watch the moment here:

Crosby set up Erik Karlsson’s power-play goal 2:08 into the game to put the Penguins up 1-0. Tommy Novak earned the secondary assist, the 100th of his own career.

Bourque’s mark had stood as the benchmark for players who stayed with one team. Wayne Gretzky is well back at 1,086 with the Edmonton Oilers, the club he spent the most time with. Steve Yzerman sits at 1,063 with the Detroit Red Wings, and Mario Lemieux has 1,033 with the Penguins, a franchise record Crosby already took from him.

The Penguins also put out a graphic to mark the occasion. Take a look:

The record is the latest in a long run for the 39-year-old. He is still playing alongside Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang in a 21st straight season together, the longest stretch for a trio on one team. Crosby has also been climbing the all-time scoring list, and we broke down his chase of Marcel Dionne earlier this week.

Pittsburgh faces the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday.
