Seth Jarvis is coming back to the Hurricanes lineup.

Carolina activated the winger from the injured non-roster list on Wednesday, and he is in line to make his season debut Thursday night against the Oilers in Edmonton, per Pro Hockey Rumors. The team announced the move on X:

Jarvis had shoulder surgery in late June, right after the Hurricanes lifted the Stanley Cup. The original recovery window was four to six months, so he beat the long end of it by a wide margin. He has missed all 11 games so far, and Carolina has gone 8-2-1 without him.

We followed his ramp-up over the past couple of weeks. Walt Ruff was first to spot Jarvis in a regular practice jersey on Oct. 8 after weeks in yellow no-contact sweaters:

Plenty of production comes back with him. Jarvis has 97 goals and 200 points in 225 games since the start of the 2023-24 season. Last year he had 32 goals and 66 points in 71 games, then added 11 points in 19 playoff games, including the overtime winner in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final against Vegas.

To open the roster spot, the Hurricanes recalled forward Skyler Brind’Amour from the Chicago Wolves and sent Bradly Nadeau down. Brind’Amour, the son of head coach Rod Brind’Amour, has two goals and three points in six AHL games this season.

The Hurricanes have dealt with plenty of injuries early. Captain Jordan Staal is out one to two months and Taylor Hall is week-to-week, which makes Jarvis a welcome piece to get back.

After Edmonton, Carolina finishes the road trip Saturday in St. Louis.
