- Ducks recall No. 10 pick Roger McQueen from San Diego
- Elliotte Friedman reports an NHL debut could come tonight vs. Flames
- Read below for why Anaheim needs forward help right now
Roger McQueen is getting the call.
The Ducks recalled the 2025 No. 10 overall pick from the San Diego Gulls on Tuesday, and Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported that the 20-year-old forward could make his NHL debut tonight against the Calgary Flames. Here’s the report:
Puck drop is 9:45 p.m. ET. Anaheim hasn’t said whether McQueen will be in the lineup, but the team made the move official a couple of hours after Friedman’s report:
The timing comes down to injuries. Cutter Gauthier and Ryan Poehling both left Saturday’s 4-2 win in Calgary and are listed as day-to-day. The Ducks finished the last 14 minutes of that game with 11 forwards, and defenseman Travis Mitchell went back to San Diego to make room on the roster.
McQueen is a 6-foot-6 Saskatoon native who put up 27 points in 36 games at Providence last season. He added three points in seven AHL games after signing his entry-level contract in April, and he has three goals in four games for the Gulls to open this year. His cap hit is $1.075 million.

Anaheim sits 4-1-0 and third in the Pacific Division through five games, with a second straight shot at the winless Flames tonight.
