Patrick Kane has 900 career assists.
Kane got No. 900 Saturday in Boston, feeding Anton Frondell for a power-play goal at 6:04 of the first period. Frondell one-timed it from the right circle to put the Blackhawks up 1-0, and Connor Bedard picked up the other assist.
Watch Frondell bury the feed:
Kane is now the 21st player in NHL history with 900 assists. Only one other active player has gotten there, Sidney Crosby.
The 37-year-old passed Phil Housley for the most assists by an American-born player earlier this month. That was assist No. 895, which came on a Bedard power-play goal against the Jets. Housley finished with 894.
Here’s the Blackhawks’ video of that Bedard goal, the one that set the record:
Kane also has 509 career goals, which gives him 1,409 career points. He signed a two-year deal to return to Chicago in July after a season in Detroit, where he had 16 goals and 41 assists in 67 games.
The Blackhawks couldn’t turn the milestone into points. Boston rallied from down two in the third period and won 5-4 on an Elias Lindholm goal at 2:32 of overtime. Frondell scored twice for Chicago.
Bedard talked about the effort after the loss. “That was probably our best game of the year,” he said.
Chicago is 4-9-1 and 0-5-1 on the road this season.
