Hometown Remix Debut: Who Wears It First
Three teams get to wear theirs right away. The Panthers host the Red Wings, the Blackhawks host the Avalanche and the Sharks host the Flames tonight.
The league says Hometown Remix will show up in 261 games this season, 19 of them with both teams in the new sweaters. Florida and Vegas also bring two colors the NHL has never used on a jersey, coral and jade.
Anaheim Ducks
The Ducks go back to the 90s with green, yellow and purple, a bright look built around Orange County. The words “Orange Country” are stitched into the hem as a pun, and a wave pattern runs along the bottom for the waterfront lifestyle.
The Flying V sleeve design from the current home jersey carries over. Here’s the Ducks’ reveal:
Boston Bruins
Boston wears all brown, a nod to the team’s first season, and it has a varsity sweater feel. The Bruins wordmark uses college-style lettering, and the shoulder patch shield and split-color design come from campus wear.
A brick pattern on the hem is meant to look like the Freedom Trail.
Check out the Bruins’ reveal video:
Buffalo Sabres
The Sabres jersey is deep royal blue with gold and white striping. The Buffalo wordmark has a red eye and a metallic gold outline, and the shoulder logo pairs the “B” with an electrified sabre.
Lightning bolts and stars are debossed into the sleeves.

Calgary Flames
Calgary’s jersey is a tribute to the Saddledome in its final season. The “88 Gold” crest carries the texture of the arena ceiling, the sleeve striping has the iconic window shape debossed into it, and the hem stripes follow the roofline.
The hem also shows the year the Saddledome opened next to the year the new arena opens. Even the block numbers pick up the texture of the shutters.
Take a look at the Flames’ new jersey:
Carolina Hurricanes
Mascot Stormy is on the front crest of a Hurricanes jersey for the first time. The base is storm grey with red and black trim.
The shoulder patches are inspired by Raleigh architecture, oak leaves are debossed into the sleeves and the hem has a City of Oaks skyline.
Here’s the Hurricanes’ reveal:
Chicago Blackhawks
Chicago made the boldest swap in the league. Green is now the main color instead of red, a fan favorite shade that finally gets its moment on the ice.
The look is tied to the 50th anniversary of the “I Will” Spirit of Chicago motto on the old home jersey. Four debossed stars on each sleeve nod to the city flag, and gold shoulder patches round it out. Check out the Blackhawks’ reveal video:
Colorado Avalanche
The Avalanche wear blue and white with a mountain elevation pattern running through the front crest and the numbers on the back. Rocky Mountain detail sits on the shoulders.
Metallic silver on the sleeves and around the logos gives the jersey a frosted finish.
Watch the Avalanche’ reveal:
Columbus Blue Jackets
Columbus goes with solid grey. An arched sleeve design nods to the Arch City, with a filigree pattern debossed behind the sleeve numbers.
The cannon crest and numbers are outlined in white, and the hem has a “5th Line” graphic for the fans.
Check out the Blue Jackets’ reveal video:
Dallas Stars
Dallas lit up its jersey in black and green on white. The front crest texture comes from the skyline at night, and the Dallas wordmark on the hem has a neon, linear look.

Detroit Red Wings
The Red Wings put “Hockeytown” across the chest next to the logo, with bold striping on the sleeves. The purple octopus is tucked inside the hem as a nod to one of the city’s best known traditions.
Take a look at the Red Wings’ new jersey:
Edmonton Oilers
Edmonton’s all-black look is built around Oil Country. The tonal crest sits next to traditional striping, which lets warning orange stand out.
The left shoulder patch reads “Oil Country” and the oil rig worker returns on the right. The hem says “This is Oil Country” between warning bars. We covered the early Hometown Remix leak last week, when 20 of the designs surfaced.
Here’s the Oilers’ reveal:
Florida Panthers
Florida brings coral to the NHL for the first time. The crest is a remixed version of the throwback Panthers shoulder patch, with a palm tree and a hockey stick crossing in front of a sunrise.
The sleeves carry a 90s sunrise pattern in coral, orange, yellow and navy. The Panthers play in Sunrise, Florida, so the theme fits.
Catch the Panthers’ reveal:
Los Angeles Kings
The Kings jersey celebrates 60 years of the franchise. Royal purple is the base, with a Hollywood-style serif font, a crown outline and pinstripes.
Palm trees are debossed into the sleeves, and the palm tree pattern hides an “L.A.” Inside the jersey, six diamonds stand for six decades of Kings hockey.
Watch the Kings’ reveal:
Minnesota Wild
Minnesota’s jersey is built around the night sky. The Wild crest has a crescent moon on a black base, where the usual logo has a sun.
The Big Dipper and Little Dipper are debossed on the sleeves, and twin stars on the numbers represent the Twin Cities.
Check out the Wild’ reveal video:
Montreal Canadiens
The Canadiens jersey has white pine, fleur de lys, rose, thistle and clover on the sleeves, one for each culture in the city’s history. The crest is etched with architectural detail like Montreal’s stonework.
The side panels have a gradient inspired by Mount Royal, four fleur de lys sit on either side of the city name on the hem, and the numbers are inspired by the iconography of Old Montreal.

Nashville Predators
Nashville went with a country stagewear feel. Tonal filigree runs across the crest, the sleeves and the hem, and an iris on the sleeves is a nod to Tennessee.
The numbers have a letterpress look with filigree embroidered into them. The Predators teased the navy and gold gear in practice earlier this month, which we covered in our Predators Hometown Remix preview.
Take a look at the Predators’ new jersey:
New Jersey Devils
The Devils wear black and red. The NJ crest is freed from its circle, so the horns and tail stand on their own.
The sleeve striping has sharper, sculpted lines with debossed detail. The custom lettering mixes curves and angles, and state outlines flank the New Jersey name inside the hem.
Here’s the Devils’ reveal:
New York Islanders
The Fisherman is back. The Islanders brought back the cult favorite look with a cleaner, sharper crest, wavy sleeve striping for the Atlantic and an updated lighthouse patch on each shoulder.
One shoulder has “L.I.” hidden in the lighthouse and the other has “N.Y.” Waves frame Long Island, New York on the hem.
Catch the Islanders’ reveal:
New York Rangers
The Rangers drop the team name from the front. The crest reads NEW YORK in stair-step lettering, with Lady Liberty over the heart and silver accents inspired by the city’s towers.
The sleeve striping carries a pattern from the base of the Statue of Liberty’s torch, and torches flank the city name on the hem. A captain’s patch on the left chest honors first responders.
Watch the Rangers’ reveal:
Ottawa Senators
Ottawa wears black and gold with Gothic architecture as the theme. The crest is metallic gold with a brushed finish, and the sleeve striping uses geometric patterns from the city’s buildings.
The shoulder patches show English and French logos on opposite sides for Ottawa’s bilingual identity. River bridges frame the wordmark on the hem to connect Ottawa and Gatineau.
Check out the Senators’ reveal video:
Philadelphia Flyers
The Flyers jersey is built around the Liberty Bell. Six stripes run around the sleeves for the team’s 60th anniversary, and the bell’s inscription is debossed into them.
The hem has script from the U.S. Constitution and the date of independence for the 250th anniversary, and the numbers have crack-inspired detailing.
See the Flyers’ Hometown Remix reveal:
Pittsburgh Penguins
The Penguins went with 60s pop art. The crest has halftone textures and an offset print look, and the numbers on the back match.
One shoulder patch shows the igloo for the old arena and the other a triangle for the Three Rivers. The hem uses a different color for each of Pittsburgh’s boroughs.
Take a look at the Penguins’ new jersey:
San Jose Sharks
San Jose wears scuba blue, a lighter shade of teal, with the SJ mark front and center and a shark swimming between the letters. Shark teeth chomp around the sleeves and socks.
The words “Shark Tank” are on the hem next to the team’s chomped stick, a nod to the pregame Sharks Head. Watch the Sharks’ version:
Seattle Kraken
Seattle leaned on its nautical history with scrimshaw designs. The anchor logo is on the front crest, and the names and numbers have scrimshaw embroidery.
Rhododendrons are on the hem and Mt. Rainier and the mountains are on the sleeves.
Catch the Kraken’ reveal:
St. Louis Blues
The Blues made black the primary color, inspired by the dark water of the Mississippi. The crest is cut with three river wave lines and the sleeves have a debossed wave pattern.
The hem frames the city name from under the Gateway Arch, and the letters and numbers have a beveled look like the Arch’s metal finish.
Watch the Blues’ reveal:
Tampa Bay Lightning
Tampa Bay brings the Stadium Series skull to the front with a fresh smile, and this one is missing a tooth. Sky blue returns on a black base with Lightning blue accents.
The sleeve bolts are back in cut and sew, the numbers are sky blue and the Bayshore Balustrade is inside the hem.
Check out the Lightning’ reveal video:
Toronto Maple Leafs
The Leafs jersey honors 100 years of the franchise. The crest remixes the original logo with etched leaf veins, paired with an arched Toronto wordmark.
The leaf veins run through the sleeve striping and the numbers, and the hem says “Toronto Forever” between leaf logos from across team history.
See the Maple Leafs’ Hometown Remix reveal:
Utah Mammoth
Utah puts the U Tusk on the crest. The yoke and sleeve striping carve out tusk shapes that connect with the hem, so the full jersey forms a pair of rising tusks when the arms are down.
Snow shimmer texture runs through the white striping, the palette is Mountain Blue, Rock Black and Salt White, and the hem shows the Wasatch Mountain Range.
Take a look at the Mammoth’ new jersey:
Vancouver Canucks
The Canucks jersey shows the city at night. A stealth orca in deep blues with silver eyes is on the front, and the sleeves have a debossed skyline reflecting in the bay.
The hem nods to the lions guarding the Lions Gate Bridge, and the names and numbers have a V notch.
Here’s the Canucks’ reveal:
Vegas Golden Knights
Vegas calls it the most luxe jersey of the bunch. The shoulder yoke has a jade green texture from casino felt, with hearts, clubs, spades and diamonds worked into the pattern.
A roulette wheel pattern runs across the sleeves, the numbers use a playing card typeface and the hem carries the year the team started, 2017.
Catch the Golden Knights’ reveal:
Washington Capitals
The Capitals went with a monument theme. The crest has the Capital Dome with stars, sticks and the Statue of Freedom, and the shoulders, sleeves and hem have a marble texture like the Capitol and the Lincoln Memorial.
The screaming eagle returns on the shoulders and cherry blossoms sit on the hem.
Watch the Capitals’ reveal:
Winnipeg Jets
Winnipeg’s jersey is about the northern lights. The crest and jet have aurora highlights, the sleeves fade from blue to light green and the hem has a full aurora scene.
The names and numbers have a soft, blended look, almost like they’re glowing through the fabric.
