The London Knights added an NHL first-round pick to their forward group on Friday.
Marcus Nordmark signed an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement with the club, which sends the 18-year-old Stockholm winger to Ontario for his first season in North America.
Anaheim took Nordmark 28th overall at the 2026 draft in Buffalo, moving up a spot to get him with a pick that came back in the Mason McTavish trade. He signed his three-year entry-level contract with the Ducks in July.
Djurgardens had him for 25 games at the U20 Nationell level last season, and he finished with 14 goals and 24 assists. He tacked on 23 points in 11 playoff games and got into eight SHL contests, where he picked up an assist.
His international work is the louder part of the resume. Nordmark led the 2025 Hlinka Gretzky Cup in scoring with nine points, then scored three goals in six games as Sweden won gold at the U18 Worlds.

London opened the import spot for him two days earlier, trading Colorado prospect Linus Funck to Oshawa for a 2027 second-rounder and a 2028 third.
Knights vice president and general manager Mark Hunter explained what the signing does for a made-over forward group in the team’s release:
“We are very excited to add a player of Marcus’ caliber to our hockey club. He is a gifted offensive player that has size and plays the game the right way. Any time you are adding an NHL first round pick to your team it’s exciting for the players and our fans.”
Three players from the first round of the 2026 draft will dress for London this season. Maksim Sokolovskii went 27th, Nordmark 28th, and Jaxon Cover 32nd.
Ducks scouts will see plenty more of him now that he is on a North American schedule instead of a Swedish one.
