The Ducks locked up another piece of their 2026 draft class on Wednesday.
Anaheim signed winger Marcus Nordmark to a three-year entry-level contract. The 18-year-old went 28th overall last month, the second of the two first-round picks the Ducks carried into the draft.
The team made it official:
That 28th pick took a winding road to Anaheim. It started as Montreal’s, moved through Vegas, and landed with the Ducks on a draft-day trade. General manager Pat Verbeek used it to grab a shooter.
Nordmark spent last season in Djurgarden’s program back home in Stockholm. He got into eight games in the SHL and picked up an assist, one of only three 17-year-olds to register a point in Sweden’s top league.
Most of his production came at the junior level. Nordmark put up 14 goals and 38 points in 25 games with Djurgarden’s U20 team and finished a plus-24.
He carried it over to the international stage too. Nordmark helped Sweden win gold at the 2026 U-18 World Championship and racked up 19 goals and 37 points across 25 games in U18 competitions.
Scouts like the shot. Nordmark can score from just about anywhere and switches his shooting leg depending on the angle he gets to the net. He is not the type to carry his own line yet, though Anaheim has enough skill up front to let him grow into a complementary role.
Owning two first-round picks gave Verbeek room to swing on upside. You can see the full board and how the Ducks got there in our 2026 NHL Draft first-round tracker.
Nordmark is not expected to jump straight to the NHL. Another year in Sweden is the likely path before he tries to crack the Anaheim lineup.
