Marc-Andre Fleury’s pranks never get old.
Fleury didn’t get the start in goal in Tuesday’s preseason game against the Chicago Blackhawks. So what did he do instead? Dress up as a member of Minnesota’s ice crew, of course.
Yup, that’s right. Fleury traded in his goalie stick for a shovel, joining the ice crew during the first period of the game. Flower donned a disguise consisting of a wig, glasses, a fake mustache, and a backward Wild hat as he shoveled the ice during a TV timeout.

The goalie’s teammates were unaware of his latest prank, so Fleury skated by their bench and said, “Come on boys, let’s get it going.”
In an intermission interview with local Minneapolis radio station KFAN, Fleury said he tried to skate by the bench quickly to not attract too much attention, namely from head coach John Hynes.

Fleury’s Pranking History
Fleury is well-known throughout the NHL for his lighthearted personality and tendency for pulling pranks on his teammates. Over his 20-year career, Fleury has left a trail of mischief wherever he has played. During his time with the Penguins, Fleury was notorious for hanging his teammates’ clothes from the rafters of the arena.
He also targeted longtime teammate and Penguins captain Sidney Crosby on multiple occasions. This includes an infamous incident at the 2022 NHL/NHLPA Player Media Tour where he gathered and taped Crosby’s gear together.
Fleury’s pranking ways continued during his stint with the Vegas Golden Knights. He once taped all of Jonathan Marchessault’s sticks together and put them on the ice, causing Marchessault to be late for practice.
Now with Minnesota, Fleury has found new targets in teammates like Brandon Duhaime. In retaliation for Duhaime joking about Fleury’s age, the veteran goaltender stole Duhaime’s clothes.
Most recently, after Duhaime covered Fleury’s car with toilet paper, Fleury escalated the prank war by removing the tires from Duhaime’s car, placing it on cinder blocks, and planting a garden on the hood.
Never Change, Flower
Fleury’s latest prank is just another example of the goalie’s fun-loving personality and his ability to keep things light both on and off the ice. We’re hoping for plenty more shenanigans in his final season before he hangs them up.
Never change, Flower.
