The Flyers are without their leading scorer for at least a few more games.

Philadelphia placed winger Travis Konecny on injured reserve Sunday with a lower-body injury. The move is retroactive to Oct. 8, which means he can come off IR on Oct. 15 when the Flyers face the Red Wings.

Here’s the team’s announcement:

Konecny was listed as day-to-day after the Flyers’ 5-1 loss to Boston, as we noted in our Nikita Grebenkin injury report. The team hasn’t said what the injury is or when he got hurt. His last game was the 2-1 loss to Ottawa on Oct. 8, when he played 17:04 and picked up an assist.

Defenseman Oliver Bonk was called up from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms to take the open roster spot. The 21-year-old scored a goal and an assist in his NHL debut last April and played once in the second round against Carolina. Cam York is day-to-day and Rasmus Ristolainen is also on IR, so Bonk helps a thinned-out blue line.

The timing is rough for a team that is still looking for its first win. The Flyers are 0-4-2 and have scored the fewest goals per game in the NHL at 1.17.

Konecny is the only Flyer with three points this season, all assists in five games. The 29-year-old had 27 goals and 68 points in 77 games last year, down from 76 points the season before.

Trevor Zegras moves up to a top-line wing spot and Noah Cates gets time on the power play to fill the gap. Philadelphia is also dealing with fan frustration, as we covered in our look at Rick Tocchet’s “way too comfortable” comments.

The Flyers host the defending Stanley Cup champion Hurricanes on Sunday night with Joseph Woll in net. Check out the lineup update:

Seattle is next on the schedule, then Detroit, when Konecny becomes eligible to return.
