FC Dallas hosted the Stars winger at Toyota Stadium on Saturday night and handed him the postgame fireworks duty. Robertson walked onto the field, hit the oversized button, and the sky behind him lit up.

The soccer club earned the pyrotechnics. Dallas rallied past Sporting Kansas City 4-3, with Petar Musa scoring twice and burying the winner on a penalty in stoppage time.
Robertson had another photo op waiting for him this weekend. He posted a shot with content creator IShowSpeed to his own Instagram, and the league account grabbed it:
The relaxed summer follows a contract that ate up most of it. Robertson filed for arbitration in August, then signed a one-year, $12 million deal that killed the hearing before it happened. That number ties Mikko Rantanen for the biggest salary on the Dallas roster.
A much larger conversation is already scheduled. Robertson can hit unrestricted free agency for the first time next July, and Jim Nill has said Dallas wants an extension done during the season rather than letting it drag to the open market.
He is worth the trouble. Robertson led the Stars with 96 points last season, 45 goals and 51 assists across all 82 games, and he sits at 213 goals and 490 points in 456 career games, every one of them in Dallas.
Dallas opens at home against St. Louis on Oct. 2. Robertson will be pointing at nets instead of fireworks by then.
