The Hurricanes aren’t letting Philadelphia forget about it.

After a 4-1 win over the Flyers on Sunday night, the Carolina Hurricanes’ social media account went after all three of the city’s major teams at once.

“We’ve won more games in Philly in the last nine days than the Flyers, Eagles, and Phillies combined this month,” the team posted.

The math checks out. The Hurricanes have beaten the Flyers twice at home in that stretch, and both wins came in Philadelphia. The Flyers are 0-5-2 after Sunday and just set a franchise record with a seventh straight game without a win to open a season. We covered the record-setting loss earlier today.

Sebastian Aho and Andrei Svechnikov each had a goal and an assist, and Shayne Gostisbehere and Mark Jankowski also scored. Pyotr Kochetkov stopped 18 of 19 shots. Carolina has won five in a row and moved to 5-1-1.

The Eagles and Phillies haven’t helped the cause. The Eagles are 2-3 after a loss to the Jaguars in London, and the Phillies were knocked out in the wild-card round of the playoffs. That leaves very little for the city to cheer about this month.

The 76ers open their season in nine days, so the city gets a new team to pin its hopes on soon.
