Somebody is keeping a running tab on Connor Hellebuyck’s holdout. Down to the penny.

Hellebucks.com is a fan-made site that counts, in real time, how much salary the suspended Winnipeg Jets goalie has given up since the season opened without him. As of 7:08 p.m. CT on Thursday, the ticker sat at $378,770.22.

Calgary data strategist Robson Fletcher built the counter and has been posting updates on Bluesky. He shared it Wednesday night with Winnipeg sitting second in the league:

Nine days into the NHL's regular season, the Winnipeg Jets are 2nd in the league, without Connor Hellebuyck playing.

Hellebuyck, meanwhile, has forfeited US $344,044 (and counting) since the Jets started their season without him.

You can track how much money he's giving up, second by second, here:

The math is simple. Hellebuyck’s base salary for 2026-27 is $7.5 million US, which is lower than the $8.5 million cap hit most people quote. NHL players get paid over the 194 days of the regular season, so each day he stays away costs him 1/194th of that number.

That works out to roughly $38,660 a day, or about 45 cents every second. The site even shows a little progress bar of how much of his season salary is already gone.

Fletcher is upfront that it isn’t an official figure. The site describes the number as “an estimate for fun, not a formal accounting,” and the clock freezes if Hellebuyck is traded or reports.

Here’s how he got here. Hellebuyck went public with his trade request on Aug. 27, then skipped training camp, and the Jets suspended him in mid-September. The three-time Vezina winner and 2024-25 Hart Trophy winner still has five years and $42.5 million left on his deal.

Winnipeg hasn’t exactly been suffering without him. The Jets are 3-0-1, with Clay Stevenson winning his Jets debut and Kyle Connor sinking the Avalanche late on Wednesday:

If the standoff drags through April, Hellebuyck’s tab on Hellebucks.com would hit the full $7.5 million.
