The skater crest is back where Canadians want it.
Hockey Canada and Bauer unveiled a new national team jersey Wednesday, and the headline change sits right on the chest. The traditional crest, a white skater inside a red and black maple leaf, returns to the front of Canada’s sweater for the first time in four years.
This one leans red. The base is solid red, the crest carries a gold border, and CANADA is spelled out underneath in white. Black covers the shoulder yoke and upper arms, filled with a pattern of small red maple leaves that thin out as they climb.
Smaller touches carry plenty of weight here. Hockey Canada’s logo and maple leaves are debossed around each elbow in a tone-on-tone panel, and the inside of the collar reads “Pride, Passion, Performance” in gold. Three gold maple leaves stand for the men’s, women’s and para hockey programs.
Steven Ellis of Daily Faceoff reported the jersey has been confirmed for competition and goes on sale later this fall.
Canada’s teams have worn a retro-inspired look at IIHF events since roughly 2023, with CANADA arched over a solid maple leaf on the front and the skater crest pushed up to the shoulders. Bauer handles the design work now after signing an eight-year extension with Hockey Canada in December 2025.
Ice time comes quickly. Canada hosts the U-17 World Challenge in Oakville, Ontario from Nov. 1-7, and the women’s national team plays the IIHF Women’s World Championship in Denmark from Nov. 6-16.
Edmonton and Red Deer get the big one. Both cities host the 2027 World Junior Championship in December, the event Hockey Canada pointed at when it started teasing this reveal earlier in the week.
Anyone who wants one on their back will wait a bit. Hockey Canada has no pre-order up yet, and says pricing and retail details are coming later.
