Hockey Canada is getting a new look, and the wait is almost over.
The federation dropped four close-up teaser images on Monday morning with nothing but a date attached: 09.09.26, plus a maple leaf. That sets the full unveiling for Wednesday, a little more than three months before the World Juniors open in Alberta.
Every frame is shot tight, but they give away plenty. One shows rows of black maple leaves stamped across a red base. Another goes red on red, with a leaf and the CANADA wordmark woven right into the fabric.
Gold turns up in the other two. A black sweater carries a line of metallic gold leaves along the trim, with tiny red dots running underneath them.
The last one is tighter still. Gold piping runs between a white stripe and a red panel, butted up against white lettering on what looks like the edge of a crest.
White barely registers across the four images. Red and black do the heavy lifting and gold handles the accents.
Bringing the federation logo back is the bigger story. Canada has leaned on a stripped-down heritage mark at international events over the past few seasons, and Daily Hive noted the teasers point to the full crest returning.
Reusing the Milano Cortina jerseys was never an option. IOC rules kept the Hockey Canada logo off those Olympic sweaters, so the federation runs a separate set for everything outside the Games.
Alberta hosts the tournament this winter. Edmonton and Red Deer run the 2027 World Juniors from Dec. 26 to Jan. 5, with Rogers Place taking 17 games including both semifinals and the medal games.
Canada could use a fresh start on the ice too. The program hasn’t won World Juniors gold since 2023, settled for bronze in January behind Sweden and Czechia, and dropped the Olympic final 2-1 in overtime to the United States on Jack Hughes’ goal.
