The Heritage Classic is getting a full fan festival. The NHL announced details Wednesday for the 2026 Scotiabank NHL PreGame, which runs Sunday, Oct. 25 from noon to 5:30 p.m. CDT at the University of Manitoba’s U Lot in Winnipeg.
The festival is for Heritage Classic ticketholders only, and the Stanley Cup will be there for photos. Winnipeg-based event band Flatland Famous handles the music stage.
Puck drop between the Jets and Canadiens at Princess Auto Stadium is 6 p.m. CDT. Both teams already showed off their throwback sweaters, which we covered in our Heritage Classic jersey breakdown. Here is the Jets’ reveal:
More than 20 league partners are setting up activations. Canadian Tire is building a frozen-lake setup called The Pond with goalie challenges and photo ops, while Esso has a Washing Machine Challenge where fans fire pucks at the target. Rogers brings augmented reality, including a chance to score on an NHL mascot, and Nestle runs a KitKat accuracy challenge.
NHL alumni will sign autographs at select times. Classic Fare Catering is serving Montreal smoked meat and perogies, a nod to both fan bases.
This is the Jets’ third outdoor game and the Canadiens’ fifth, their first since 2017. Montreal is 2-2-0 in outdoor regular season games. Winnipeg last hosted one at Princess Auto Stadium in 2016 against the Oilers.
Sportsnet, TVA Sports, TBS and Max carry the game.
