The Heritage Classic jerseys are out, and both teams went full throwback.

Fanatics and the league revealed the uniforms Wednesday for the Canadiens and Jets, who meet outdoors at Winnipeg’s Princess Auto Stadium on Oct. 25. Winnipeg is wearing white. Montreal is sticking with red, trimmed in a vintage off-white.

Winnipeg went straight back to the 1980s and 1990s. The crest is felt with chain-stitched detailing, and the back numbers get the same two-layer felt treatment. A streaking jet graphic frames the event name along the hem, and the loop label borrows the jet-in-a-circle design from the team’s pants.

That nostalgia carried into the reveal. Check out the Jets video:

Captain Adam Lowry modeled it in the team’s photo shoot. The white is meant to pair with Winnipeg’s current navy alternate, so the old logo now has a home and a road look.

Montreal’s sweater pulls details from several eras of team history. The CH crest got redrawn to echo older versions and is rendered in felt with running-stitch detailing. Take a look at the crest up close:

Look inside the collar for the best touch. “Les Habitants” appears in the back collar for the first time ever, a nod to the franchise nickname. The loop label carries a fleur-de-lis for Quebec.

This is Fanatics’ first Heritage Classic since taking over as the league’s on-ice outfitter. The jerseys went on sale Wednesday through Fanatics, NHLShop and both team stores, with a wider retail launch on Oct. 8.

After a three-season break, the Heritage Classic returns. The Oct. 25 game airs on Sportsnet, TVAS, TNT, truTV and HBO Max (full national TV schedule here). Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. ET.

It’ll be the Jets’ third outdoor game. Winnipeg hosted the Oilers at the same stadium in 2016 and faced the Flames in Regina in 2019.

Montreal heads into its fifth outdoor game and first since 2017. The Habs are 2-2-0 all-time in regular-season outdoor contests.
