Moritz Seider and Tim Stutzle are getting into the podcast game.
The Red Wings defenseman and Senators center launched Seider & Stützle on Wednesday, a monthly show produced by German sports outlets kicker and Eishockey NEWS. The trailer and a full hour-long first episode dropped the same day.
Here’s the trailer video:
There’s a catch for most North American fans. The whole show is in German, aimed squarely at hockey fans back home.
New episodes land on the last Wednesday of every month on YouTube and the usual podcast apps, and it’s audio only.
In the trailer, the two say they’ll talk about the NHL, Germany’s top league (the DEL), and the 2027 IIHF World Championship, which Germany hosts next May. Episode one covers summer training, expectations for the new season, their work in their NHL communities and what keeps them motivated.
Check out the announcement:
Seider and Stutzle go way back. Both came up through Adler Mannheim’s youth program, they’ve played together for Germany at the Olympics, and they train together in the summer. Each one is also signed long term with his NHL club through 2031.
Senators fans might flinch at the idea of another star with a microphone. Brady Tkachuk’s Wingmen, co-hosted with brother Matthew, turned into a headache in Ottawa, and a Senators player later said the show “caused problems” in the room before Tkachuk was traded to Florida.
This one probably won’t stir the pot the same way. It’s in German, Stutzle is a much quieter personality, and there’s no Keith Tkachuk chiming in.
Both guys are coming off big seasons. Seider put up 60 points (10 goals, 50 assists) in 82 games, while Stutzle led Ottawa with 83 points, including 34 goals, in 80 games.
They won’t run short on topics either. Stutzle and the Senators play two games in Dusseldorf against the Blackhawks the week before Christmas, and Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin wants a trade.
