Here are NHL DFS picks and value DFS plays for FanDuel and DraftKings on Monday, May 9th 2022:
Best NHL DFS Picks
Mikko Rantanen (DK $7100, FD $8100)
Colorado Avalanche forward Mikko Rantanen comes in at a solid price for Game 4 versus Nashville. Colorado has dominated Nashville and pushed them to the brink of elimination in their first-round playoff series. The line of Rantanen, Nathan MacKinnon and Valeri Nichushkin has a 66.1 CF% in the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Rantanen has five assists in the series, but he’s yet to find the back of the net. We see him getting on the board Monday with Nashville turning in goal once again to the inexperienced Connor Ingram.
Artemi Panarin (DK $5600, $7500)
The New York Rangers face close to a must-win situation in Game 4 against Pittsburgh on Monday. Gerard Gallant’s team got off to brutal start in Game 3 before rallying to tie the game and losing by one goal. The Rangers should get a big performance from their top line as they try to even up the series. The Artemi Panarin, Andrew Copp and Ryan Strome line is the only Rangers’ line with a positive Corsi percentage in the series. Panarin has scored in back-to-back games and has fired seven shots on goal in that span. Panarin’s budget price, especially at DraftKings, makes him a great DFS play Monday.
Jonathan Huberdeau, (DK $6900, FD $9200)
The Florida Panthers have the second-highest implied team total (3.8) of any NHL team in the Monday NHL odds. Florida desperately needs a big-time offensive performance against Washington in Game 4 as they trail the series 2-1. Although Huberdeau only has two points in the series, the underlying numbers point to an offensive explosion coming. The Anthony Duclair, Aleksander Barkov and Huberdeau line has controlled 70% of the shot attempts when on the ice together in the series. Huberdeau scored in Game 3 and has provided consistent shot volume with 10 shots on goal in the series. Huberdeau’s line should have a big Game 4 in what’s close to a must-win situation.
Best NHL DFS Value Plays
Rasmus Andersson (DK $4100, $5100 FD)
Calgary Flames’ top-pairing defenseman Rasmus Andersson is priced cheaply in NHL DFS for Game 4 against the Dallas Stars. The Flames trail the Stars 2-1 in the series as they’ve been shutdown by Dallas’ defense and goalie Jake Oettinger. Andersson has been one of the Flames’ best players in the series, leading all Calgary blueliners with a 63.93 CF%. Andersson doesn’t have a point in the series, but he’s logged over 24 minutes of ice time in consecutive games. The 25-year-old also plays on the first power-play unit with Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Tkachuk, who are due for a breakout game. Andersson is a strong DFS value play Monday due to his heavy ice time and power-play exposure.
TJ Oshie (DK $3400, $5300 FD)
It isn’t often you see a top-line forward for the Washington Capitals priced at below $3500 on DraftKings. The Panthers are -190 favorites to win Game 4 on Monday, but the game total is set at 6.5. Oddsmakers are projecting a high-scoring affair, as the Capitals have a 2.9 implied team total while the Panthers have a 3.9 implied team total. This means you can one-off a player or two on the Capitals even if you’re stacking the Panthers. Oshie has two goals and nine shots on goal in the series while skating alongside Nicklas Backstrom. Oshie also plays on Washington’s top power-play unit with Alex Ovechkin, making him a terrific DFS value play Monday.
