Vancouver has turned into the busiest summer rink in hockey.
Macklin Celebrini has spent the offseason skating at Scotia Barn in Burnaby, the complex everyone still calls 8 Rinks, and the group around him keeps getting bigger. Daily Hive counted at least 10 NHLers who have been spotted on that ice this summer.
Connor Bedard is part of the draw. He and Celebrini both grew up in North Vancouver and went first overall a year apart, and Gavin McKenna joined them after Toronto took him at the top of the 2026 draft. The Maple Leafs rookie said in July that one week with Celebrini ran 17 hours on the ice.

Logan Stankoven carried a Stanley Cup around Kamloops in June and still turned up for the summer grind. Check out one of his skates:
San Jose has the biggest contingent of anybody. Will Smith, Michael Misa and Sam Dickinson are all recent first-round picks, and prospects Luca Cagnoni and Carson Westch have been at 8 Rinks as well. Smith and Celebrini already turned an offseason workout into a viral video earlier this month.
The local guys are around too. Thatcher Demko has been seen skating in the city, Brendan Gallagher is putting in his work in Delta the way he always does, and Arshdeep Bains has been part of the Celebrini group.
Zach Benson came out of Chilliwack, Stankoven out of Kamloops, Bedard and Celebrini out of North Vancouver. British Columbia keeps turning out this kind of player, and for two months a year it gets all of them back in the same building.
Camps open next month, which gives the 8 Rinks crowd about four more weeks together.
