Talk about adding insult to injury. The Sharks just lost by five goals, and Celebrini probably wasn’t pleased. Instead of being able to go home problem-free, his vehicle got nicked. Brutal.
On a more positive note, Celebrini is having a fantastic rookie campaign. The former first overall pick has scored 21 goals and 32 assists and sits second on the Sharks in points with 53. He’s fully living up to the hype, despite San Jose’s brutal 20-43-9 record. Celebrini is in line to win the Calder Trophy as the best rookie in the league.
Macklin Celebrini didn’t have a point against the Rangers but tallied four shots on goal. While the youngster only has three goals in March, he’s registered four points in his last five appearances.
The Sharks definitely have a franchise cornerstone in their hands with Celebrini, who is only scratching the surface when it comes to his ability at the NHL level. Although a scratch on his car is far from ideal, Celebrini has more than enough money to get it all fixed up in a hot minute.
San Jose is just 4-6-0 in their last 10 outings. They’re back in action on Sunday evening in Southern California against the Los Angeles Kings. Celebrini will be looking to end his cold skid in front of goal and help the Sharks potentially grab a victory.
