- Bruins reportedly signing Marat Khusnutdinov to a three-year extension
- The deal is worth $3.95 million per season, an $11.85 million total
- Read below for what he has done in Boston so far
The Bruins are locking up Marat Khusnutdinov for three more years.
ESPN’s Emily Kaplan reported Wednesday that the extension carries a $3.95 million cap hit, which works out to $11.85 million over the life of the deal.
Kaplan called it a big scoop by Kevin Weekes. Weekes was the first to say Tuesday that the two sides were closing in on a deal, as we passed along in our earlier post. No term or dollar figure came with it at that point.
Khusnutdinov was set to become a restricted free agent with arbitration rights in July. He is making $925,000 this season, so the new number is a decent raise for a player the Bruins clearly like.
The 24-year-old has two goals and five points in 10 games this year. Last season he set career highs with 15 goals and 33 points in 77 games.
Boston picked him up from the Minnesota Wild in March 2025, along with Jakub Lauko and a sixth-round pick, in exchange for Justin Brazeau. He has 23 goals and 54 points in 178 NHL games across his time with the Wild and Bruins. Minnesota drafted the Russian forward 37th overall in 2020.
The Bruins have not announced the deal yet, so the terms are still reported and not official.
