Brady Tkachuk already knows where the jerseys are going if Senators fans throw them on the ice Wednesday night.

Tkachuk laid out the plan on Wingmen, the podcast he hosts with his brother Matthew, as Daily Faceoff highlighted. He explained that he and the Panthers worked it out with the Boys and Girls Club in Ottawa.

“Just talking with our team, and talking with the Boys and Girls Club, [we’ve decided] that every jersey that gets thrown on the ice is going to get donated to a friend at the Boys and Girls Club in Ottawa,” Tkachuk said. “I don’t recommend doing it…just we could also make this a new tribute instead, if you can toss your jersey on the ice and it’s going to a good cause.”

Ottawa fans have been parting with Tkachuk jerseys since the summer. The Senators ran a “Chuk Out The Old Jersey” trade-in promo in July, and the team pitched it like this:

Wednesday is the first of three meetings this season between the Panthers and Senators, and the only one in Ottawa. Puck drop at Canadian Tire Centre is 7:30 p.m. ET, and the game headlined the week’s national TV slate.

Tkachuk comes in with six goals and four assists in nine games for Florida, which sits at 5-2-2. He was asked earlier this week how the night might feel once the team lands in Ottawa.

“I think, once we get there, it’s going to hit a little more,” Tkachuk said. “Now it still feels like that game you circle on the calendar, and I bet for a lot of people, can’t believe it’s here, but once we land in Ottawa, set foot and see some of the guys, it’ll be, ‘All right, it’s here.’ It’s going to be nerve-racking. I’m going to be nervous.”

Any jersey that lands on the ice Wednesday has a destination now. Whether fans take him up on the “new tribute” is up to them.
