The Hockey Hall of Fame sorts out its Class of 2026 on Monday, and the ballot is loaded.
Patrice Bergeron, Carey Price, and Rod Brind’Amour headline the names up for a vote, per NHL.com. The selection committee meets Monday afternoon, with the new class made public that same day.
Bergeron is the headliner, and he should be a first-ballot lock. Twenty seasons in Boston, a record six Selke Trophies, a Cup in 2011, 1,040 points, and two Olympic golds make for an easy yes.
Here’s the tribute to his Boston career:
Brind’Amour shows up fresh off a championship. His case already had two Selke Trophies and 1,184 points from his playing days. Winning the Cup behind the bench this spring only adds to it, and coaches go in as Builders.
Carolina wrapped up the title last week:
Price is back for a second year on the ballot. The Montreal goalie won Olympic gold in 2014 and a Hart Trophy the next season, and his peak was about as good as it got in net.
Phil Kessel and Eric Staal join Bergeron among the first-year names. Kessel played a record 1,064 straight games and won three Cups. Staal piled up 1,063 points and just watched his brother Jordan take home the Conn Smythe in Carolina.
The committee can pick four men and two women this year. The Class of 2026 goes public Monday at 3 p.m. ET on TSN and NHL Network.
