The Blue Jackets are open to moving Dmitri Voronkov.

The Athletic’s Pierre LeBrun reported Thursday that “some teams” have called Columbus about the 26-year-old winger. LeBrun was careful about it, saying a trade isn’t a sure thing, only that the Blue Jackets are listening. Here’s his post:

Voronkov has had a rough start to 2026-27. He has two assists in six games, no goals, and averages just 11:44 of ice time. The Blue Jackets scratched him for back-to-back games on Oct. 17 and 18, a 1-0 overtime win over the Rangers and a 2-1 loss to the Wild.

He returned Tuesday against Toronto and picked up an assist in a 6-2 loss, but played about 10 minutes. Columbus is 3-5 and sits last in the East, so the pressure on the roster is building early.

The Athletic’s Aaron Portzline described Voronkov as having “run aground” with the team, per the same report.

The trouble goes back to last season. Voronkov scored 23 goals and 47 points in 73 games in 2024-25, then dropped to 17 goals and 32 points in 63 games. His ice time fell sharply once Rick Bowness took over in January. Before the coaching change he averaged 16:31 a night. In 18 games under Bowness, he played under 11 minutes a game and scored one goal.

The Blue Jackets also won 13 of those 18 games with him in a smaller role, compared to just 19 wins in the 45 games before Bowness arrived. That is hard to ignore when a team is deciding how much it values a player.

This isn’t the first time Columbus has been linked to a roster shakeup this month. The Kirill Marchenko trade to the Maple Leafs is still a hot topic around the team, and Marchenko has 11 points in 11 games in Toronto.

Voronkov and the Blue Jackets are back on the ice Saturday night at home against Vegas.
