Brady Tkachuk had a message for his old bench after he scored in Ottawa, and Senators owner Michael Andlauer just shared it.
According to Andlauer, Tkachuk told the Ottawa bench, “Some things never change, eh boys.”
Andlauer revealed the line on the Coming In Hot Sens podcast, and we put it on a graphic Tuesday:
Tkachuk made his first trip back to Canadian Tire Centre on Oct. 21. He opened the scoring on the power play at the 10:00 mark of the first period, answering the boos from a crowd that had been on him since warmups.
Take a look at the goal:
Ottawa had the last word. Tim Stutzle tied it on the power play at 14:13, and the Senators scored five unanswered to win 5-1.
Andlauer also opened up about Tkachuk’s departure on the show, including why the winger’s comments about wanting a winning culture hurt Senators fans.
“I know I felt it personally,” Andlauer said.
This is not the first time the owner has talked about the trade. Back in September, Andlauer explained how the Tkachuk family got involved before the winger left for Florida.
Tkachuk was coming off back-to-back natural hat tricks against the Blue Jackets and Canucks when he scored in Ottawa, so the goal fit a hot stretch. The line he reportedly left behind for his old teammates is the part Senators fans will keep talking about.
