- A pile of Brady Tkachuk Senators jerseys formed on the ice in the third period
- Tkachuk said earlier every jersey thrown would be donated
- Read below for the plan and the pile
Ottawa fans took Brady Tkachuk up on his jersey offer.
In the middle of the chaos in the third period, a pile of Tkachuk Senators jerseys started to form on the ice at Canadian Tire Centre. Watch the pile build:
Tkachuk had set it up himself. He announced on his podcast with his brother Matthew that any jerseys thrown on the ice during the game would be donated to the Ottawa Boys and Girls Club. We broke down the plan earlier this week.
The fans had a lot to throw. Ottawa was on its way to a 5-1 win, the arena had been loud since warmups, and Tkachuk came in with 10 points in nine games for the Panthers. Tkachuk opened the scoring in the first period, and the home crowd kept the boos going all night.
Here’s how Tkachuk answered the boos:
The jerseys landed on the ice during a stretch where the game had gone sideways. The Senators led 3-1, Linus Ullmark was hurt, and there was a scrum near the Ottawa bench.
