Zdeno Chara never fails to provide entertainment for hockey fans.

The Boston Bruins 6′ 9″ defenseman is the tallest player in the NHL. In a Thursday exhibition game against the Columbus Blue Jackets, he somehow ended up standing next to two of the shortest players in the NHL.

NHL teams are currently standing side-by-side and locking arms during the national anthems to show their solidarity with the Black community. In Thursday’s exhibition game between the Blue Jackets and Bruins, Chara ended up between the two shortest players on the opposing team, 5’4″ Nathan Gerbe and 5’8″ Cam Atkinson.

This isn’t the first time Gerbe, who is the NHL’s shortest player, has ended up in a funny photo with Chara. Chara and Gerbe have made up several hilarious photos together, dating back to Gerbe’s days with the Buffalo Sabres.

Only in hockey will you see two players of such different statures compete against each other in a professional sports game.
