Tristan Jarry’s new bucket landed Friday, and it is not a quiet one.
Edmonton posted the first look at the mask the goalie will wear in 2026-27, a blue and orange job from painter Jason Bartziokas that Daily Hive described as packed with Tom and Jerry mischief.
Side panels carry the gag. A bulldog in a red firefighter’s helmet swings a wrench on one flank, a second cartoon dog turns up in a red JARRY sweater, and a tiny NO TRESPASSING sign sits just above the chin.
JARRY runs across that chin in Oilers block lettering, with the team’s logo airbrushed over the top of the shell.
Flip it over and the tone changes completely. Two portraits sit above the words “Forever in our Hearts,” beside hearts carrying the names of his wife Hannah and their son Bennett. Paw prints for the family dogs, Diesel and Kitty, fill out the rest of the back plate.
One more name is on the way. Jarry and Hannah announced in late July that they are expecting a baby girl.
What he wears matters less than where he plays, and that part is still unsettled. Frederik Andersen hurt himself in an offseason workout and is not expected back until late October, which lines Jarry up alongside Devon Levi to open the season.
He has real work ahead of him. Jarry came over from Pittsburgh last December and put up a 3.86 goals-against average with an .858 save percentage across 19 appearances, and the Oilers answered by trading for Levi and signing Andersen over the summer.
Three goalies, one healthy pair and a starting job nobody owns. Camp opens in a few weeks, and the mask is the one piece of Jarry’s Edmonton tenure nobody is questioning.
