- 20-ounce plastic swords go on sale 5:30 p.m. before Game 7 vs. Canadiens

The Beer Sabre is back for Game 7.
Buffalo is pulling its signature 20-ounce plastic sword cups out of storage for Monday night’s winner-take-all clash with the Montreal Canadiens at KeyBank Center. Sales kick off at 5:30 p.m. ahead of a 7:30 p.m. puck drop, and they will move while supplies last:
Labatt USA is filling each sword with one of three beer options, and the cups will move at concession stands spread across the arena’s 100, 200, and 300 levels. Fans who tried to grab one earlier this season know the lines pile up fast.
Sabres chief operating officer Pete Guelli sounded the alarm himself:
Lindy Ruff’s group earned this Game 7 the hard way. Down 3-0 early at Bell Centre, the Sabres ripped off seven unanswered to bury Montreal 8-3 and drag the series back home.
Hockey’s most viral drinking vessel has turned into a Western New York phenomenon. KeyBank Center’s sport service team designed it in-house and rolled it out with Labatt USA earlier this season.
Resellers are flipping them online for $200 to $300, the Buffalo Zoo used them to feed giraffes, and Good Morning America put them on national TV. Demand has not cooled since Buffalo broke its 14-year playoff drought this spring.
Game 7 tickets are not cheap, either. Ticketmaster listed 300-level seats starting at $307 on Sunday night, with premium spots climbing past $1,200.
StubHub opened around $290, and fans shut out of KeyBank Center can head to Canalside for the team’s official watch party.
Monday’s winner moves on to face the Carolina Hurricanes, who have not played a game since May 9.
