- Penguins sign Nick Robertson to a two-year deal worth $3.25M per season
- The contract cancels his July 28 salary arbitration hearing
- Read below for the numbers and what Robertson brings to Pittsburgh
Nick Robertson and the Penguins beat the arbitrator to it.
Pittsburgh signed the winger to a two-year contract at a $3.25 million AAV, Elliotte Friedman reported. That takes the July 28 arbitration hearing off the table.
Robertson had filed for arbitration earlier this month when the two sides couldn’t agree on a number by the deadline. His qualifying offer was $1.825 million, so the new deal is a healthy raise for the 24-year-old.
He landed in Pittsburgh on July 1, when the Penguins acquired him from Toronto for a 2028 fourth-round pick. The trade reunited Robertson with GM Kyle Dubas, who drafted him 53rd overall in 2019.
The 2025-26 season was the best of his career. Robertson posted 16 goals and 16 assists in 78 games with the Maple Leafs, both career highs.
Here’s a look at what he brings to Pittsburgh’s forward group:
Kyle Dubas has spent the offseason hunting for scoring, and Robertson gives him cheap 20-goal upside on a short term. He gets a fresh start after five uneven years in Toronto, and Pittsburgh takes on almost no risk to find out.
Two years to show the fourth-round pick was a steal.
