NHL Network handed the top spot back to Andrei Vasilevskiy on Sunday night.
The Tampa Bay goalie headlines the network’s Top 10 Goalies Right Now list for 2026-27. Take a look at the reveal:
Vasilevskiy won his second Vezina Trophy last season, leading the league with 39 wins while running a 2.31 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage in 58 games. He held opponents to two goals or fewer 35 times.
The 32-year-old also ripped off a 17-0-1 stretch from Dec. 20 through Feb. 25 with a 1.90 GAA and a .925 save percentage.
Connor Hellebuyck sits second coming off the roughest year of his prime. He finished 23-23-11 with a 2.86 GAA and a .895 save percentage while trade chatter followed him all summer.
His 2024-25 season still carries the argument. Hellebuyck went 47-12-3 that year and swept the Vezina and the Hart.
Here is the full board:
- 1. Andrei Vasilevskiy, Tampa Bay Lightning
- 2. Connor Hellebuyck, Winnipeg Jets
- 3. Igor Shesterkin, New York Rangers
- 4. Ilya Sorokin, New York Islanders
- 5. Jeremy Swayman, Boston Bruins
- 6. Logan Thompson, Washington Capitals
- 7. Jake Oettinger, Dallas Stars
- 8. Dan Vladar, Philadelphia Flyers
- 9. Jesper Wallstedt, Minnesota Wild
- 10. Jakub Dobes, Montreal Canadiens
Goalies make up the third piece of a nine-part series. Wings led things off on Aug. 3 and the top 20 defensemen landed on Aug. 10, with six position groups still to come.
Two of the 10 have one full NHL season on the resume. Jakub Dobes opened the countdown at No. 10 after a 29-win rookie year and 19 playoff starts that carried Montreal to the Eastern Conference Final.
Jesper Wallstedt grabbed No. 9 by leading all rookie goalies in save percentage at .916, including a Nov. 7 to Dec. 18 run of four shutouts and a .954 mark. Watch the Wild netminder get his spot:
Jeremy Swayman made his first appearance on the list too, checking in at No. 5 on the back of a career-high 31 wins and a wild card berth for Boston.
One set of names is missing: the goalies who actually won the Cup.
Frederik Andersen went 13-2 with a 1.89 GAA and three shutouts in 16 games during Carolina’s championship run, then signed in Edmonton this summer. Brandon Bussi, who took over the Carolina net, stopped all 22 shots in the Game 6 shutout that clinched the Cup in Vegas.
Neither Hurricanes goalie made NHL Network’s board.
