Dylan Holloway is staying in St. Louis for the long haul.

The Blues signed the 24-year-old forward to a five-year, $38.75 million contract extension on Friday, locking him up at a $7.75 million average annual value through the 2030-31 season.

Here’s the announcement from the team:

Holloway was set to hit restricted free agency this summer with arbitration rights. The new contract takes him two seasons past when he would have hit unrestricted free agency in 2029.

The structure is front-loaded. Holloway earns $10 million next season, then $9 million, $7.5 million, $6.25 million, and $6 million in the final year.

He gets a 20-team no-trade clause in 2029-30 and a 15-team no-trade clause in 2030-31.

The Athletic’s Jeremy Rutherford had the AAV first:

This is a big payday for a player the Blues plucked from Edmonton on a two-year, $4.58 million offer sheet in August 2024. The Oilers opted not to match, and two years later that gamble looks like a steal.

“Pretty different,” Holloway told the Blues website earlier this week. “It was kind of wild two years ago. But obviously I’m very thankful to be a Blue and I want to be a Blue for a long time.”

Below is video of all 26 of his goals from his breakout 2024-25 season, his first in St. Louis:

Holloway’s first year-plus with the Blues had its rough moments. He was carted off on a stretcher just weeks into his Blues debut after taking a puck to the neck.

An ankle injury on December 12 then cost him close to two months this season.

The second half of 2025-26 flipped the script. Holloway came back with 22 goals and 51 points in 59 games, second on the team in goals.

That followed his breakout 2024-25, when he posted career bests of 26 goals, 37 assists, and 63 points in 77 games as a first-year Blue.

The 2020 first-round pick now has 132 points across 225 NHL regular-season games. The Blues just made sure plenty more are coming in St. Louis.
