Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane had the best possible response to a Vegas Golden Knights fan who flipped him the middle finger.
Tensions rose during Saturday night’s Game 2 playoff game between the Oilers and Golden Knights at T-Mobile Arena. Edmonton stormed out to a 3-0 lead en route to a convincing 5-1 victory to even the series.
During the second period of the game, a brawl broke out on the ice in the Vegas zone, with Kane and Vegas forward Keegan Kolesar tangling up in the corner. As Kane fought with Kolesar, a Vegas fan behind the glass could be seen on TV double-flipping the bird to the Edmonton forward.
Check out Kane mixing it up with Kolesar, followed by a classy Vegas fan telling Kane what she thinks of him:

Instead of retaliating with a similar inappropriate gesture, Kane responded in a classy and clever way. The ex-Shark blew a kiss to the fan and drew attention to the five fingers on his hand (it was 5-1 Oilers at the time).

While the photo will be hard to top this NHL postseason, the Oilers also deserve full marks for what they did with the image. Edmonton posted a funny meme poking fun at the lopsided score and gesture from Kane:

Player vs fan interactions can be fun, but we don’t have time for people that flip off athletes. Props to Kane for handling this in a respectful way and not taking things any further.
Kane blowing a kiss to a Vegas time marks the second time we’ve seen this gesture in the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs. No one can forget Seattle Kraken forward Brandon Tanev blowing a kiss to a Colorado Avalanche fan following a goal in Round 1.
Oilers vs Golden Knights is officially our favorite Round 2 NHL Playoff series following a feisty Game 2 affair. Kane is sitting on three goals and one assist this postseason heading into Monday’s Game 3 at Rogers Place.
