Wayne Gretzky has another wedding on the calendar.

Emma Gretzky, the youngest of Wayne and Janet’s five kids, announced her engagement to former SMU tight end Stone Eby in an Instagram post on July 28. The 23-year-old kept the caption to one line.

“The easiest yes to a lifetime with you,” she wrote.

Here’s the post that set the family off:

The comment section filled up with Gretzkys in a hurry, per Daily Hive. Janet Jones Gretzky left a “Congratulations. Love You All!” and older sister Paulina, who married golfer Dustin Johnson in 2022, wrote “I’m crying! No one deserves this more.”

Emma and Eby met on campus at Southern Methodist University in Dallas and have been together since November 2022. She played tennis for the Mustangs during her first two years there. Eby spent five seasons with the SMU football program from 2021 through 2025, went undrafted in April, and got a look at Denver Broncos minicamp this spring.

This will be the third wedding among Wayne and Janet’s kids, after Paulina in 2022 and Ty in 2020.

Their son beat the ceremony to the punch. Emma gave birth to a boy last August and named him Walter, after Wayne’s late father, the man who flooded the backyard rink in Brantford and taught the Great One to skate on it.

Little Walter is already in a pair of skates. Emma posted photos of him on the ice last month with a caption that needed no help: “He got it from his papa.”

Take a look at Walter’s early work:

Wayne and Janet are up to seven grandchildren now between Emma, Paulina, Ty and Trevor. Papa’s record book is a long way off for any of them, and even Alex Ovechkin is still chasing the goals column at 40.
