Trevor Zegras x Taylor Swift is the collaboration we didn’t know we needed.

During Saturday’s NHL game between the Anaheim Ducks and Buffalo Sabres, Ducks forward Trevor Zegras was seen on the bench singing along to Taylor Swift’s song “You Belong With Me” during a stoppage in play.

Bally Sports cameras caught the funny moment on their broadcast during the second period. With T-Swift’s song blaring over the speakers at Honda Center, Zegras started jamming out and singing the words to the 2008 chart-topping hit.

“If you could see that I’m the one who understands you…Been here all along, why can’t you see? You belong with me You belong with me.” Zegras sings on the bench. The youngster was clearly loving the DJ’s music selection.

Here’s a video you didn’t know you needed until now:

Zegras Singing Taylor Swift:

Zegras singing along to Taylor Swift should come as no surprise to those who have been keeping up with Zegras’ music choices. The 21-year-old is a true “Swiftie”, as exemplified by his Spotify Wrapped playlist for 2022. Zegras’ top artist for the year was no other than Taylor Swift herself.

Hockey needs more players like Zegras who aren’t afraid to express themselves and showcase their personalities. The New York native is always having fun when he steps on the ice. The Ducks are having a dreadful season sitting at the bottom of the NHL standings, yet Zegras still found a way to enjoy himself. He also scored two goals Saturday, so perhaps he was just feeling it.

NHL players singing along to music doesn’t happen too often, but there have been some epic moments caught on camera. One of the best instances of NHL players jamming out over the past few years is Toronto’s Mitch Marner and Auston Matthews singing along to Bon Jovi on the bench.

Marner and Matthews earned a response on Twitter from Bon Jovi for their singing efforts, but Zegras will have a hard time garnering a similar reaction from Taylor Swift. The American pop star has 93 million followers on Twitter and usually only posts about her music. We’re still holding out hope, though, that she at least likes the post.

Taylor Swift’s “Midnights” tour is hitting the US this summer, with stops in California set for early-August. Considering Zegras is a confirmed Swiftie, we wouldn’t be surprised if the Anaheim star is in attendance for one of these scheduled shows.
