USA Hockey unveiled its 44-player men’s roster Tuesday for its Olympic Orientation Camp in Plymouth, Mich., later this month.

The U.S. Men’s Olympic Orientation Camp will be held just a week from now on August 26 and 27. There will be no formal on-ice activity; rather using this time as an administrative and team-building event.

Six Stars Already Named

Jack Eichel, Quinn Hughes, Auston Matthews, Charlie McAvoy, Brady Tkachuk, and Matthew Tkachuk were the six pre-named players back in June for Team USA.

The Team USA roster for the 2026 Olympics is being put together by general manager Bill Guerin of the Minnesota Wild with Mike Sullivan, who joined the New York Rangers this summer, behind the bench as the head coach.

Camp Invitees Include Five Olympians

The upcoming 2026 Olympics will be the first with NHL players since 2014. There has been a lot of turnover in the NHL in those dozen years, but there are two players from the 2014 roster and three from the 2022 roster invited to the camp.

Patrick Kane headlines the group as a two-time Olympian. He was there in 2014, and he also played for Team USA when they won Silver in the 2010 Olympics. Ryan McDonagh was also on the 2014 roster and will try to make it again as a grizzled veteran.

The other three Olympians represented their country in 2022. Brock Faber, Matthew Knies, and Jake Sanderson have all since turned pro and are making their mark in the NHL. We’ll see if they get a chance to make their mark at the 2026 Olympics.
