The Florida Panthers were able to stay mostly healthy during the first two rounds of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. However, they were bitten by the injury bug on Thursday night in Game 2.

Panthers top-line winger Sam Reinhart suffered an apparent lower-body injury on this hit by Sebastian Aho.

The Panthers announced that Reinhart would not return to Game 2 after the first intermission.

While the Panthers have great depth, losing Reinhart for any length of time would be a blow.

Reinhart led the Panthers in the regular season with 39 goals and 81 points. He had 11 points (4 goals, 7 assists) in the first 13 games of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The scoring winger plays in all situations for the Panthers as a part of the power play as well as the penalty kill.

The good news for the Panthers is that they held a 3-0 lead after the first period in Game 2. After beating the Hurricanes 5-2 in a physical Game 1, the Cats once again pounced on the Canes in Raleigh.

Aho didn’t receive a penalty on the play, but stay tuned to see if the Hurricanes center could have a hearing for the hit.
