A reddit user has come up with a great logo concept for Seattle’s NHL team based on recent trending news.
People on the internet went into a panic over the weekend when it was announced that the world’s largest hornets, which researchers have nicknamed “Murder Hornets”, are starting to emerge from hibernation and have been spotted in the United States for the first time ever. The two-inch Asian giant hornets have an appetite for honey bees and have a venomous sting that can be fatal to some people.
The hornets were reportedly first spotted in Washington State back in December. They are believed to be most destructive in the late summer and early fall, when they are on the hunt for sources of protein to raise next year’s queens.
I’m not into the ‘Murder Hornets’ that are coming our way. Let me handle one terrifying thing at a time please thx 🐝 💨

A Reddit user with the username u/moosebaloney had some fun with this latest internet sensation and decided to turn the murderous hornet into a mock concept for Seattle’s new NHL team. The mock concept for a potential Seattle Team team named the “Seattle Murder Hornets” turned out epic.
The feedback received from the design has been overwhelmingly positive. It’s one of the most popular threads in the Reddit Hockey subreddit since the league went on pause. One user suggested that the Seattle Murder Hornets would be selecting Tom Wilson, Evander Kane and Brady Tkachuk with their first three picks in the Expansion Draft to ensure they live up to their name.
The new Seattle NHL team is set to begin play in the 2021–22 season. Considering no details have been released yet on a potential name, logo or even colours for the franchise, we can only speculate on what epic concepts a professional designer might come up with.
