Vegas Golden Knights forward Nicolas Roy put his team in a bad position in overtime of Game 2. Roy received a five-minute major and was ejected for cross-checking Edmonton Oilers forward Trent Frederic in the face just 5:35 into the extra session.

Here’s a look at Roy’s cross-check to the face of Frederic:

The penalty gave the Oilers’ lethal power play a long five-minute man advantage in overtime. The Knights were able to kill that off, but Connor McDavid fed Leon Draisaitl shortly thereafter to give Edmonton a 2-0 series lead.

That goal came after Viktor Arvidsson sent Brayden McNabb into the boards with no penalty called on the play.

Arvidsson didn’t receive any punishment for the play, as only Roy faced a hearing on Friday.

Some speculated that Roy could be suspended for Game 3 on Saturday in Edmonton, but the NHL Department of Player Safety announced that he would only receive a fine.

Roy will be available to help the Golden Knights try to get their first win of the series.

Game 3 is set for Saturday night in Edmonton with the Oilers holding a 2-0 lead.
