Logan Thompson found another movie built around his city.
The Capitals goalie debuted a “Wedding Crashers”-themed mask at practice on Thursday, inspired by the 2005 comedy shot around Washington, D.C. and Maryland, per RMNB’s Ian Oland, who was first to capture the reveal.
Dave Fried of Fried Designs painted the bucket, mixing the Capitals’ wordmark, Weagle, and Capitol Dome logos with characters from the film. Check out the finished mask:
Vince Vaughn’s Jeremy Grey and Owen Wilson’s John Beckwith sit on the right side, next to Christopher Walken’s turn as Treasury Secretary William Cleary. Will Ferrell’s Chazz Reinhold and Keir O’Donnell’s Todd Cleary land on the backplate, while Bradley Cooper’s Sack Lodge and Rachel McAdams’ Claire Cleary round out the left side.

The bucket comes a few weeks after Thompson’s last reveal, a “Mars Attacks!” design that Fried unveiled in early September. Ginohard covered that one when it dropped.
Thompson’s masks have quietly become their own tradition in Washington. He’s previously worn tributes to “Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian” and “National Treasure,” two more movies shot in and around D.C. Last season, he also wore designs that poked fun at Tom Wilson and honored the Capitals’ defense corps.
