Tampa Bay Lightning coach Jon Cooper mic'd up in the Stanley Cup handshake line against Montreal

Jon Cooper is all class.

The Tampa Bay Lightning coach was mic’d up in the Stanley Cup handshake line against Montreal. His comments to the Canadiens’ players speaks volumes to the respect he has for the opposition.

The Lightning defeated the Canadiens in five games to win their second consecutive Stanley Cup. Jon Cooper coached his team to back-to-back championships.

Video has surfaced of Cooper mic’d up in the handshake line against Montreal. The segment comes from the NHL’s “Quest for the Cup” series. The Tampa Bay coach pays compliments to Cole Caufield, Carey Price and Nick Suzuki among others.

Here’s what Cooper said to the Habs players:

To Cole Caufield:

“You got a bright future kid. You got a bright future.”

To Alex Romanov:

“Great job all right. You got a great future.”

To Brendan Gallagher:

Gally. Warrior man. You’re a f**king warrior.”

To Carey Price:

“Aches for me, I ache for you buddy.”

To Nick Suzuki:

“Hey, you got a hell of a f**king future kid. I’m telling you. You’re coming out party. Keep working.”

Considering Nikita Kucherov has made all the headlines for ripping Montreal fans in his drunk press conference, it’s great to see a prominent member of the Lightning organization show respect for the Habs.
