Allen Iverson is a Sixers icon for life. On Friday night, he showed up to Game 3 of the 76ers-Knicks series rocking a different Philly franchise: orange and black, head to toe.

NBC Sports Philadelphia’s John Clark caught the moment when the Jumbotron found Iverson in the crowd. Take a look:

Iverson played 11 of his 14 NBA seasons in Philadelphia and won the 2001 league MVP. He’s still one of the most recognizable faces in any Sixers building, so when he turns up wearing the local hockey team’s colors, it travels.

Sixers-Flyers crossover love runs both ways this spring. Back in April, John Clark caught Flyers rookie Porter Martone and a couple teammates at a Sixers regular-season game decked out in Iverson jerseys:

Both teams could use a lift. The Sixers lost Friday’s Game 3 to New York and now trail the second-round series 3-0.

The Flyers? Same hole. They’re down 3-0 to Carolina heading into Saturday night’s Game 4 at home, with the season on the line.

Rick Tocchet first told his team they’d been dead before after Game 2 last week. He doubled back on the line Friday after the Game 3 loss, per NHL.com.

“We’ve been dead before and we’ve climbed out of it,” Tocchet said. “We’ve played a lot of playoff games the last two, three months, and now we’re in a situation where it’s a must-win.”

Carolina took Game 3 4-1 to push Philly to the brink. Game 4 goes Saturday night at Xfinity Mobile Arena, same building where Iverson got his Jumbotron moment. He’s on the right side of town for it.
