One of the best new dekes that has arrived to the EA Sports NHL franchise is the Nikita Kucherov “no move” deke. This is a breakaway or shootout move that involves faking a deke and letting the puck slide through the goalie’s five-hole.

Here’s how to perform the move for left-handed players in NHL 21:

The first step is holding LB (L1 on PlayStation) and pushing the left analog stick to the right to initiate a stride deke. For the best timing, execute this move around the hash-marks.

After doing the stride deke, quickly push the right analog stick to the left. This will cause the puck to slide away from you without you touching it.

An easy way to remember this is that both analog sticks will be going in. First you push the left analog stick to the right and then you push the right analog stick to the left.

Here’s how to perform the move for right-handed players:

Hold LB (L1 on PlayStation) and push the left analog stick to the left to initiate a stride deke.

After doing the stride deke, move the right analog stick to the right. This will cause the puck to slide away from you without you touching it.

For reference, here’s Nikita Kucherov scoring with the move in real-life:

Best of luck executing the deke in NHL 21!
