Anaheim came out hungry in Game 2 against Vegas.

The Ducks grabbed a 3-1 win at T-Mobile Arena on Wednesday night, evening the Western Conference second round series at one game apiece. Lukas Dostal turned aside 22 of 23 shots and didn’t allow a goal until five seconds were left in regulation:

Beckett Sennecke got things started midway through the second period. Jeffrey Viel collected the puck behind the net and slid a pass out front, and Sennecke lifted a shot over Carter Hart’s glove for his second goal of the playoffs. That made him just the fourth Anaheim player ever to score multiple postseason goals before turning 21, joining Stanislav Chistov, Emerson Etem, and Ryan Getzlaf. Here’s the video:

Leo Carlsson doubled the lead 6:36 into the third. Troy Terry sent a backhand pass through the slot, and Carlsson tipped it past Hart’s glove from in front:

Jansen Harkins iced it with an empty-netter at 16:30. It was his first playoff goal since August 30, 2020, when he was a Winnipeg Jet inside the COVID bubble.

Mark Stone broke through on a power play with five seconds remaining, redirecting a Jack Eichel shot under Dostal’s right arm to make it 3-1. That cracked the shutout, but the result was already locked in.

Special teams remained an issue for the visitors. The Ducks went 0-for-5 on the power play, including 1:37 of 5-on-3 time in the first period. They’re 0-for-9 with the man advantage through two games of this series.

According to the official recap, Hart finished with 25 saves for Vegas, which had taken Game 1 by the same 3-1 score. The series shifts to Honda Center for Game 3 on Friday at 9:30 p.m. ET on TNT.

After knocking off Edmonton in six games in Round 1, Anaheim now gets a chance to take a series lead in front of its own building.
