The Winnipeg Jets were dead in the water.
Trailing 3-1 late in the third period, the Jets pulled the goalie for the extra attacker.
First, it was Vladislav Namestnikov who made it a one-goal game with 1:56 remaining in the period. And then with the clock winding down, Cole Perfetti scored his second of the game in front to send the game to overtime — and Winnipeg into a frenzy.

it was the latest game-tying goal in Game 7 history.
The first overtime period was rather uneventful. Most of it looked a lot like the play below.

The second overtime didn’t look much different with both teams chugging along. That was until Jets captain Adam Lowry got a piece of Neal Pionk’s point shot to beat Jordan Binngton and send Winnipeg to the second round.

The Blues were seconds away from advancing to the second round, but their Cinderella run has come to an end. They sat at 23-25-4 through 52 games after a four-game losing streak to end January. St. Louis went 21-5-4 in their final 30 games, including a 12-game winning streak from March 15 to April 5 to catapult itself into a playoff spot.
Winnipeg will now face the Dallas Stars in the second round, but it’s going to be a tall task. They could be without top center Mark Scheifele, who missed the last two games after taking a high hit, and top defenseman Josh Morrissey, who left Game 7 in the first period.
The Jets will now have two days off to prepare for the Dallas Stars. Game 1 is set for Wednesday night at 9:30 p.m. ET.
