Hockey Canada announced its 23-player roster Friday for the 2026 IIHF World Championship in Zurich and Fribourg, Switzerland. The Sharks star headlines the group along with Oilers defenseman Evan Bouchard.

Celebrini wrapped up a historic sophomore season in San Jose. He finished with 45 goals and 115 points in 82 games and broke Joe Thornton’s franchise single-season points record.

The 19-year-old also led the Olympics in goals with five and added 10 points in six games as Canada took silver at Milano Cortina, falling to the U.S. in overtime.

Bouchard, 26, paced all NHL defensemen in scoring with 21 goals and 96 points in 82 games while logging 24:41 a night. Longtime Oilers teammate Darnell Nurse joins him on the Canadian back end.

Here’s the full group going to Switzerland: three goalies (Jet Greaves, Jack Ivankovic, Cam Talbot), eight defensemen (Bouchard, Dylan DeMelo, Sam Dickinson, Denton Mateychuk, Nurse, Morgan Rielly, Zach Whitecloud, Parker Wotherspoon), and 12 forwards (Mathew Barzal, Connor Brown, Celebrini, Dylan Cozens, Emmitt Finnie, Dylan Holloway, Fraser Minten, Ryan O’Reilly, Mark Scheifele, John Tavares, Robert Thomas, Gabriel Vilardi).

Twelve players on the roster have prior Worlds experience. Brad Treliving and Jason Spezza ran the selection process.

A few notable Canadian names won’t be in Switzerland. Connor Bedard already ruled himself out to rehab his shoulder, while Connor McDavid and Nathan MacKinnon are still chasing the Stanley Cup with their NHL clubs.

Canada opens the tournament May 15 against Sweden in Zurich. The medal round runs through May 31.
