COVID-19 did its best to ruin Halloween in 2020, but some people still found a way to make the most of it.
The Tkachuk brothers had one of the best costumes among NHL players this year. The two brothers decided to dress up as Dale and Brennan from the 2008 hit comedy ‘Step Brothers’ for Halloween.
Matthew Tkachuk uploaded a photo of the awesome costumes on his Instagram account Saturday evening.
Here’s a look at the pose they recreated from the original movie poster:
Even though the movie is over 10 years old, it remains one of the most quotable comedies of all time. The Will Ferrell movie generated over $100 million at the US box office and has led to numerous amazing Halloween costumes over the years.
Brady Tkachuk is not stranger to dressing up as look-alike John C. Reilly. Just last year, the younger Tkachuk brother dressed up as Cal Naughton Jr., Reilly’s character from the movie ‘Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby’.
It’s awesome to see the Tkachuk brothers embrace their friendly rivalry both on-and-off the ice. One of the great moments from the 2019-20 NHL regular season was when referee Wes Mccauley got Brady and Matthew to take a faceoff against each other in a game between the Ottawa Senators and Calgary Flames.
Wes McCauley kicked both centermen out for the opening faceoff so the Tkachuk brothers could face-off 😂 (📽️: @TSN_Sports) pic.twitter.com/31udHjmboo

Trick-or-treating may have been off the table for 2020 Halloween, but that didn’t stop us from getting to see some awesome costumes.
